I hold AMBDA status from the British Dyslexia Association and have an APC (Assessment Practising Certificate).
My career started teaching Religious Studies, Philosophy and Ethics in a large mixed comprehensive. After two years I moved schools to become a Head of Department. I went on to become a Head of Year 10 and then a Head of Year 11. After a position as a Senior teacher I was appointed Assistant Headteacher. I took time out whilst my children were very young and then returned to work part time and on a consultancy basis.
I then retrained to support children with literacy difficulties, and also completed and achieved 'The National Award for SEN Coordination' (NASENCO). Prior to moving to Shropshire I was working as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) in a Montessori Primary School.
As well as being a qualified specialist teacher and Dyslexia assessor; I am the mother of two boys both of whom have Dyslexia.
