Assessments
I'm a fully qualified teacher and dyslexia assessor carrying out assessments in Shropshire and surrounding areas. A definitive diagnosis of dyslexia requires a full diagnostic assessment.
With over 20 years teaching experience, most recently as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator. I hold AMBDA status from the British Dyslexia Association and have an APC (Assessment Practising Certificate).
The SpLD Assessment Standards Committee [SASC] hold a record of qualified assessors which can be viewed on their website.
I offer bespoke tuition to support children with their literacy difficulties.
This takes place onlineor in my garden office at home in Shropshire.
It is not uncommon for a child to experience literacy difficulties. These difficulties vary from child to child and present at different stages in a child's schooling. I teach both primary and secondary aged children.
As well as being a qualified teacher and Dyslexia assessor; I am the mother of two boys both of whom have Dyslexia. I know from first hand experience the impact literacy difficulties can have.
I also deliver training to parents on how best to support their child with reading.
Throughout your child's reading journey, finding books that your child enjoys is so important when it comes to fostering a love of the experience.
The reviews on this website are here to provide a 'lyttle help' and include ones written for children by children.
The speed and ease with which a child develops the skills to read fluently, accurately and with understanding varies greatly from child to child. In learning to read we want children to enjoy the experience and develop a passion for reading that will last a lifetime. One of the primary ways to do this is to engage children in stories.
"Catherine’s ability to attune , encourage and bring on our child's talents is extraordinary.
She has succeeded where all others have failed!
I cannot recommend her more highly."
